“ Cholesterol And Soya The Facts
Revealed “

research has shown that a daily intake
of 25-30g
Of Soya Protein or the equivalent of 3
glasses of a good quality
Soya milk , an excellent form of soya
protein can in most cases
significantly reduce blood cholesterol
in most people,
when consumed as part of diet low in saturated
fat
Of
course these effects will vary from person
to person but there is
little doubt of the benefical effects
of soya protein to lower cholesterol
and general health improvement.
For
a majority of people changes to diet including
the use
of soya milk combined with an increase
in regular exercise
can reduce total cholesterol levels by
as much as 20%
Based
on current statistics this can reduce
your risk of a heart attack by as
much as 30-40% of course as with everything
to do with the human body
some people may still need to use medication
to treat their cholesterol levels
For
those unfamiliar with Soya Milk it has
typically a shelf life of up to 12
Months and can be used as a direct replacement
for dairy milk .
It
is similar In appearance and taste to
dairy milk and would be just as tasty
on your favourite Breakfast cereal as
dairy milk. Some varieties of Soya Milk
may have added Vitamins and Calcium giving
additional benefits especially the younger
person.
In
addition to using Soya Milk there are
an increasing range of Soya Milk
Products such as cream , dairy free desserts
, dairy free milk shakes and yoghurts
And in most instances the Soya alternative
can be used as a direct replacement for
the dairy product .
In
addition to its health giving properties
Soya Milk can be used by Vegetarians And
Vegans and additionally for those who
experience a intolerance or allergic reaction
to cows milk the majority can tolerate
soya protein as a viable alternative for
those who cannot tolerate lactose (a sugar
found in milk ) most soya milks are also
suitable.
As
you can see it may not be something many
of you have ever even considered I know
I for one will be testing these claims
